Berlin Sophia

This would not be a lifestyle blog without one of the creatures that is the biggest part of my life, Berlin Sophia! Berlin is a female 5-year-old German Shepherd, and she is the first love of my life. I got her my second year of college. There has always been a saying that says “you do not know true love until you have a child of your own.” I personally feel like Berlin in my child, like a late 2010’s cliché. #DogMom. I can hear the ranting from your computers now “a dog is not a child.” Honestly, I do not feel most people have a true connection with their dog, especially when they have children and treat the dog like a dog. I have such a strong connection with Berlin, it is truly indescribable. Not only are you growing into an adult, but you are also raising something that you will have for a short period of time. Dogs are not like children, you aren’t raising them to one day take care of you. You do not pass away before they do; you will outlive your companion that you raised. I have always had family dogs, I loved them but I did not feel the love for them that I feel for Berlin. When you build such a strong connection with your companion, there is nothing that you would not do for them. Your heart aches when you are not able to see them for hours on an end. In the dogs perspective, you are their whole lives. And Berlin is my whole life. The bond that she and I have is once-in-a-lifetime, she is my everything and will always be. Human children or not, Berlin is my first child.

Thank Y’all, for taking the time out of your day to read this post! I hope you have an amazing day!

Love, Shelby & Berlin ♡
